The M6 motorway is readily accessible via Junction 31 to the east or Junction 32 to the north, whilst the M55 (Junction 1) is close by, offering routes to Blackpool in around 20 minutes. The A5085 Riversway and B6241 provide useful local routes around the residential areas. Journeys to Manchester take around 47 minutes (34 miles via M61), to Liverpool approximately 59 minutes, and to Blackpool about 25 minutes in normal traffic.
